How to Calculate Carpet (Metric)

Formulas
Carpet m² = strips × roll width × room length. Linear meters = strips × room length. Seams = ceil(room width / roll width) − 1. Gripper rods = perimeter minus doorways (~0.9 m per door).
EN Standards
EN 1307 classifies textile floor coverings. EN 14499 covers carpet tiles. Underlay per EN 16354. Always match carpet class to traffic level: class 21-23 domestic, 31-33 commercial.
