How to Calculate Tiles, Grout, and Thinset (Metric)
Esta calculadora de azulejo y lechada estima la cantidad de tiles, thinset mortar bags, grout bags, and cement backer board sheets for rectangular, L-shaped, or custom area rooms. Ingrese las dimensiones in meters, centimeters, or millimeters. Select from standard metric tile sizes (100×100, 150×150, 300×300, 300×600, 450×450, 600×600 mm) or enter custom dimensions. Choose a layout pattern — straight grid, diagonal (45°), herringbone, or brick offset — and waste is auto-adjusted.
Thinset Mortar Coverage (EN 12004)
Coverage depends on trowel notch size: 6×6 mm covers ~5 m² per 25 kg bag, 6×8 mm covers ~4 m², and 10×10 mm covers ~3 m². Larger tiles and uneven substrates require more mortar per EN 12004 classification (C1/C2).
Grout Volume Formula (EN 13888)
Grout volume = (joint width × tile thickness × total joint length) / coverage factor. A 10 kg bag of cementitious grout (CG1/CG2 per EN 13888) covers approximately 5 m² for 300×300 mm tiles with 3 mm joints. Wider joints or smaller tiles use proportionally more grout.
Tablero de respaldo
Cement backer board sheets are 900×1500 mm (1.35 m²). La calculadora adds 10% for overlap and cutting waste, per requirements for wet areas in bathrooms and kitchens.
